* Parris Clay Shot Infront Of Apartment On Tennessee Street In Vallejo

A man was shot and wounded as he returned to his girlfriend’s Vallejo apartment after making a trip to the store Monday evening, police said today. Parris Clay, 33, of Vallejo, was shot at about 7 p.m. in the upper torso and the leg outside his girlfriend’s apartment in the 1600 block of Tennessee Street. He was flown to a local trauma center, Vallejo police Sgt. Herman Robinson said.Clay told police he does not know the shooter, described as a black man in his 20s who was dressed in a black hoodie and other black clothing, Robinson said.Clay’s girlfriend tried to get him into her apartment after the shooting but Clay collapsed at the front door, Robinson said.Police said the suspect did not take any of the groceries, and the motive for the shooting has not been determined.
