A Morgan Hill man was sentenced to one year in jail and three years’ probation Monday after he pleaded no contest to stabbing his neighbor during an argument last summer, a Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman said.Charles Rolen, 30, pleaded no contest Feb. 4 to attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon in the attack on his neighbor, Ernest Andrews, on Aug. 5, 2009,district attorney’s spokeswoman Amy Cornell said. On the night of Aug. 5, a fight broke out between the two men while Rolen was visiting the victim at his home at 16975 Monterey Road. Police said the fight escalated and Rolen pulled out a knife and began stabbing Andrews in the neck and head.Andrews was taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose and survived.
