Vacaville police say three suspects have been arrested in connection with an apparently gang-related shooting Friday night that left a 17-year-old boy dead and a 15-year-old boy seriously injured. Vacaville police Sgt. Jeff King said callers told police that a group of young men armed with handguns fired multiple shots on a group of people in the 100 block of Meadows Drive at about 6:50 p.m. Friday and then fled in a light-colored Chevrolet Impala. Patrol officers who responded to the scene found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to King. A 17-year-old boy was transported to a local emergency room to be treated for gunshot wounds but did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital, King said. A 15-year-old boy was transported by air ambulance to a nearby trauma center. The boy underwent surgery for his wounds and is expected to survive, according to King. Officers saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ car leaving Vallejo and attempted to stop it but the occupants fled from police and drove into Fairfield, King said. The pursuit ended when the suspects’ vehicle crashed on Dickson Hill Road at Mustang Circle in Fairfield, according to King. He identified the suspects as 21-year-old Rudolfo Ortega, 20-year-old Adrian Torres and 21-year-old Jesus Vidrio, all of Fairfield. Ortega, Torres and Vidrio have been booked into jail on multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, felony evading arrest and conspiracy. King said the incident appears to have been a gang-related shooting that could lead to the filing of additional charges. He said anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Vacaville Police Department at (707) 449-5200 or Detective Dye at
(707) 449-5212.
