* Malcolm Akins And Ryan Russell Arrested By Fairfield Police After Shooting Into Home On Grande Circle

Fairfield police Thursday arrested two men who allegedly fired shots into a condominium in the city.Malcolm Akins, 21, and Ryan Russell, 22, both of Fairfield, were arrested after police responded shortly before 5:55 a.m. Thursday to reports of shots fired in the 1900 block of Grande Circle.Officers arrived and determined that someone had been shooting at windows in a condominium, and were told by witnesses that the suspects were seen running into a nearby residence, police said.Police responded the home and tried to make contact with the suspects, who refused to leave.A search warrant was obtained for the home, and Akins and Russell were eventually taken into custody without incident,according to police.Investigators believe the two suspects had been drinking and decided to start shooting at the condominium, which was vacant. They used shotguns that were stolen from a previous residential burglary in Fairfield, police said.Akins and Russell were booked into county jail on suspicion of shooting at a residence, possession of stolen property, and probation violations, according to police.
