A 21-year-old man was arrested with the assistance of a K-9 unit in Vacaville last week after a police officer pulled him over and allegedly found marijuana in his possession. The suspect, Zachary Lawrence, was a passenger in a car that was pulled over in the 1100 block of Alamo Drive at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday, police said. The officer discovered marijuana inside the vehicle, and Lawrence gave the officer a false name, according to police. Once the officer learned Lawrence’s true identity, he found Lawrence had a felony warrant for grand theft and violation of probation, police said. Lawrence then tried to run away but a K-9 unit apprehended him. Lawrence was treated at Vaca Valley Hospital for bite wounds, then booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of his grand theft warrant, resisting arrest, giving false information to a police officer, and possession of marijuana in a vehicle.
