San Anselmo police are investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred late Friday night. Officers responded to the burglary in the 200 block of Los Angeles Boulevard at about 11:20 p.m. where a suspect or suspects had smashed a vehicle window and stolen a briefcase from inside, police said. The victim also reported hearing garbage cans being knocked over about a half hour before discovering the smashed window, police said. Officers searched the area but did not find any additional vehicle
burglaries or possible suspects. The briefcase, however, was found discarded on the side of a roadway about two blocks from where the burglary had taken place, according to police. The briefcase appeared to have been tossed from a moving vehicle,
police said. Nothing from the briefcase was stolen.
