* Donald Arrodondo Arrested For DUI Crash And James Ortega 23-Year-Old Man Died West Of Santa Rosa

A 23-year-old man was killed and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash in unincorporated Sonoma County west of Santa Rosa this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.James Ortega, a Healdsburg resident, was killed in a solo-vehicle crash that was reported at about 2:10 a.m. on Frei Road north of state Highway 116, according to the CHP.Ortega was a passenger in a 2006 Mazda 3 vehicle traveling north on Frei Road when the driver, Donald Arrodondo, did not safely negotiate a curve in the roadway, traveled off the road and struck a tree and fence, the CHP said.Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.Arrodondo was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries, according to the CHP.Another passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman from Rio Nido, was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.The road was blocked for about two hours after the accident,according to the CHP.
