* Juan Carlos Vasquez In Custody For Beating An Elderly Victim And Home Invasion In South San Francisco

Police overnight arrested one of three suspects sought in connection with a home invasion robbery and assault in South San Francisco Wednesday afternoon.Officers from San Francisco and South San Francisco police departments located a stolen Ford pickup truck at 15th and Mission streets at around 11:55 p.m.Police initiated a high risk traffic stop and took Juan Carlos Vasquez into custody. Police were looking for Vasquez and two other men who assaulted an elderly man and woman then stole their pickup truck in South San Francisco earlier on Wednesday.Police reported finding property stolen from the victims’ home in Vasquez’ possession at the time of his arrest.Vasquez was arrested for robbery, burglary, conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon, auto theft, false imprisonment and elder abuse.Two other suspects are still outstanding.The victims have been released from an area hospital and are resting in an undisclosed location, according to police.Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
