* Richard Tripp A San Anselmo Man Arrested For Alleged Forgery At Ford-Smith Accountancy

San Anselmo police are investigating alleged forgery by an employee of a San Rafael accounting firm.Richard Wilson Tripp, 34, an administrative assistant of Ford-Smith Accountancy, was arrested at his Sleepy Hollow residence Thursday on suspicion of making or passing fictitious checks, forgery and possession of a methamphetamine pipe, San Anselmo police Detective Cpl. Julie Gorwood said.Tripp was scheduled to enter a plea this afternoon in Marin County Superior Court but the investigation is continuing, Gorwood said.Tripp had access to personal and account information at work and used it to create fraudulent checks that were cashed in San Francisco and San Mateo counties, Gorwood said.Tripp printed the checks himself and made them out to people he knew, Gorwood said. The loss is several thousand dollars she said.”There was some identity theft involved,” Gorwood said.The investigation is ongoing as more victims come forward, she said.Tripp is being held in the Marin County jail.
