Two weeks after a 47-year-old woman was found murdered in her Redwood City apartment, police say they are still hopeful they will catch the killer.”We’re still working leads,” Redwood City police Capt. Ron Matuszak said today. “(The case) is not at a dead end by any means.” Officers found Alycia Williams’ body pierced with stab wounds in her apartment at 707 Leahy St. at about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 9. A family member had requested a welfare check on Williams because she hadn’t been seen for several days. When they arrived, the officers found Williams dead inside her apartment, according to Matuszak. Police believe she had been dead for more
than a day. Due to “the nature of her stab wounds,” her death was labeled a homicide, Matuszak said.Though no suspects have been arrested, Matuszak said police are investigating whether Williams knew her killer and said she had “associated” with people involved in criminal activity.”We’re not focusing on any particular suspects, ” Matuszak said.
