* Douglas Olmos and Martin Galicia Arrested in Salinas For Alleged Attempted Robbery

Salinas police arrested two men who allegedly tried to rob a man sitting in a vehicle at a gas station early Sunday morning. At about 2:30 a.m., the victim drove into a gas station in the 300 block of East Alisal Street, where two suspects approached him and demanded money, police said. The victim tried to flee and was cut on the arm by an unknown object, according to police.He eventually escaped and reported the crime to a California Highway Patrol officer who was patrolling the area. The victim refused medical attention for the cut on his arm, police said. Shortly after, a Salinas police officer located Douglas Olmos, 33, and Martin Galicia, 28, who were walking to the rear of a building less than a block away from the gas station, according to police. Olmos and Galicia were arrested and booked into Monterey County jail on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
