A 50-year-old man was arrested Friday night for allegedly molesting a 6-year-old girl in an unincorporated area south of Salinas, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a home on Potter Road at about 6:45 p.m. on a report of possible child molestation. When they arrived at the home they arrested Jaime Ramirez Venegas. It was discovered that Venegas is a California Department of Corrections parolee. He was booked into the Monterey County jail on suspicion of child molestation, child abuse, false imprisonment and a parole hold, sheriff’s officials said.
