* Arthur Jenkins Arrested In Oakland For Possession Of Firearms And Drugs

A 29-year-old man on probation was arrested in Oakland Thursday morning after police allegedly found firearms and marijuana in his home, a police spokeswoman said today.At about 9 a.m., members of the Gang/Gun Investigative Task Force went to Arthur Jenkins’ home at 1715 High St. to conduct a probation search, Officer Holly Joshi said.Jenkins was on probation for drug sales.At his home, officers found nine firearms and about 1 pound of marijuana, Joshi said. One of the firearms turned out to be an illegal assault weapon. Jenkins was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms and possession of marijuana for sale, according to Joshi.Police discovered the guns might have been connected to local gang members, but Joshi declined to elaborate on the details because the case remains under investigation.
