* Mario Becerra Arrested In Salinas For Robbery At Burger King At 41 S. Sandborn Road

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of trying to rob a Burger King restaurant in Salinas on Sunday afternoon.Officers responded to a report of a robbery at about 3:40 p.m. at 41 S. Sandborn Road where the clerk told authorities a suspect had approached the counter with a knife and demanded money, police said.The clerk was unable to open the cash register and the suspect ran from the restaurant.Based on the description of the suspect, the officers realized they had contacted him about an hour earlier while responding to a disturbance call.They went to an apartment in the 100 block of McGowin Circle where they found the suspect, 19-year-old Mario Becerra. He allegedly tried to flee but was apprehended and booked into county jail, police said.
