A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the carjacking and kidnapping of three children in Vallejo on Saturday night, police said today. Bryant Jacobs is accused of carjacking a 1997 Lexus sedan belonging to Daniella Lofton at about 10:40 p.m. with Lofton’s children inside, according to police. An Amber Alert was subsequently issued for the children, ages 9, 3 and 8 months, and a description of Jacobs as well as the children and Lexus were broadcast throughout the state. At about 2 a.m. today, Jacobs’ sister was able to get the children from Jacobs and brought them to the Vallejo Police Department, police said.
Antioch police officers took Jacobs into custody at about 5:30 a.m. He was booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of carjacking and kidnapping. The Lexus was not recovered, and a semi-automatic handgun believed to have been in Jacobs’ possession is still outstanding as well, police said. Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to call Detective John Whitney at (800) 488-9383.
