During an interview with investigators, he allegedly admitted to the shooting, which happened just after 6 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the 500 block of Seventh Street, French said. The toddler had been riding with her father in a Jeep Cherokee when the teenager allegedly shot at their vehicle, French said. The father was not hurt.Police believe that the teenager targeted the vehicle thinking it belonged to someone else and does not appear to have targeted the child or her father, French said.
