A 36-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in the Tenderloin neighborhood Saturday morning has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner’s office today as Tuan Nguyen. Phuck Van Lee, 42, was arrested on suspicion of murder after being detained following the stabbing, San Francisco police Sgt. Wilfred Williams said. Lee was arrested after the incident, which was first reported at around 1:25 a.m. when officers responded to Ellis and Hyde streets on a 911 call of a reported stabbing victim, Williams said. When officers arrived to the area they couldn’t locate the victim or the person who made the 911 call. About 10 minutes later, another 911 call was received regarding a stabbing in the 600 block of Ellis Street, according to Williams. When officers arrived at that location they were flagged down by Lee, who had blood on his hands and clothes, Williams said. Lee directed officers upstairs to his apartment where they found Nguyen suffering from an apparent stab wound to his chest. Paramedics responded, but Nguyen, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead in the apartment. Lee was detained for questioning and later arrested, according to Williams.
