A man whose body was found in an abandoned church in San Jose today appears to be the city’s second homicide victim of the year, according to a police spokesman. At about 11:45 a.m., an individual flagged down a Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputy and said there was a body in an abandoned church located at Delmas and Park avenues, police spokesman Ronnie Lopez said.San Jose police officers went to the church and found the man’s body. A preliminary investigation revealed the man appeared to have been murdered, but it’s still too early to determine a cause or motive, according to Lopez. The victim has not yet been identified.It’s unclear what the individual who found the body was doing at the church, Lopez said.Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgts.
