South San Francisco police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store in the city Friday morning. At about 7:15 a.m., a man entered the store, located in the 500 block of Linden Avenue, took out a handgun, and demanded money from the
register, police said. The suspect left with cash from the register, along with cigarettes from the store, according to police.
A light-colored four-door sedan resembling a Mazda Protege was seen speeding from the area, but investigators do not know if the vehicle was involved in the robbery. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall with a medium to stocky build. He was clean shaven and wore a black, baggy hooded sweatshirt, black beanie, dark-colored pants, and black tennis shoes with a white stripe on the sole, police said.
