Richmond police today released a sketch of a suspect who attacked a woman while she was jogging in the city Saturday morning. The woman was jogging at about 9:45 a.m. Saturday along Castro Ranch Road between Conestoga Way and Olinda Road when the male suspect attacked her, police said. He allegedly approached the victim from behind and held a knife to her, telling her not to move. The suspect tried to take her toward a ravine, but the woman was able to break free from the suspect and flagged down nearby vehicles, according to police. The suspect fled into a wooded area near Castro Ranch Road, and officers did not locate him after searching the area for three hours with the assistance of a helicopter and other law enforcement agencies, police said. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man who is between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs more than 200 pounds. He was wearing an oversized orange sweatshirt or jacket, and tan work boots during the attack, according to police.
