* John Plant, Jeffery Mackay And Cody Cosseboom Arrested In Monterey For Attacking Off Duty CHP Who Stopped To Help Them

Three teenage men were arrested early this morning for attacking two off-duty California Highway Patrol officers in Monterey County near Salinas, according to the sheriff’s office.The teens were involved in a traffic accident on Alisal Road near Old State Road at about 1:40 a.m., sheriff’s deputies said.The two off-duty CHP officers stopped at the scene of the crash to help, and after they identified themselves as officers and told the teens to sit down and wait for a marked police car to arrive, the teens attacked the officers, according to the sheriff’s office.They allegedly attacked the officers because they were intoxicated¬† and didn’t want additional law enforcement involvement. The CHP officers sustained minor injuries in the attack and were treated by emergency personnel at the scene, sheriff’s deputies said.The teens, 19-year-old John Plant, 18-year-old Jeffery Mackay and 19-year-old Cody Cosseboom were taken into custody.
