* Paul Sexton A Parolee Dies In West County Detention Facility Of Possible Natural Causes

An inmate who was being held at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond died Thursday morning at a local hospital from what appears to be natural causes, Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said today.Paul Sexton, a 48-year-old Pittsburg resident, had been arrested by Antioch police Jan. 22 on a drug charge and a parole violation, Lee said.He was booked into the main jail in Martinez that night and then transferred to the West County Detention Facility on Tuesday, Lee said. At about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sexton told deputies he wasn’t feeling well. He was evaluated by medical staff at the jail and then taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, where he died Thursday
morning.The sheriff’s office is investigating his death, but Lee said it does not appear that it was caused by anything criminal.
