* Kathryn Britto-Florence Arrested by Pleasanton Police for Alleged Embezzlement

Pleasanton police arrested a woman Wednesday for allegedly embezzling more than $900,000 from the company where she worked as a controller. Detectives went to a home on Kendall Road in Walnut Creek to
arrest Kathryn Britto-Florence on a charge of embezzlement. She is suspected of embezzling money for two years. Detectives went into her home and reported finding evidence of embezzlement, including financial documents from a Pleasanton company where she was previously employed. Britto-Florence was eventually contacted by phone and persuaded to return to her home. She was arrested without incident. Police said the suspect had been convicted of embezzling from a former employer and may have been embezzling from her present employer to pay restitution.
