* Clarence Johnson Jr. Arrested In Oakland In Connection To Murder Of Howard Brooks In Antioch

A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening in Oakland in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Antioch resident Howard Brooks on Sunday evening, police said today. Clarence Johnson Jr., also known as CJ, was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. in Oakland on a $1 million warrant, Antioch police Sgt. Steve Bias said.Brooks was found shot multiple times at about 8:10 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of K Street, police said. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. On Wednesday, police arrested an 18-year-old Antioch man in connection with the shooting, but he was released without charges after witnesses told investigators that although he was allegedly present during the shooting, he was not the shooter.Investigators now believe Johnson was the shooter, police said.
