An Oakland man suspected of shooting a woman to death last week before turning the gun on himself has died of his injuries, a police spokesman said today. Marlon King, 45, died Monday evening at Highland Hospital in Oakland. Police believe King shot 46-year-old Aprile Moore at a home in the 2500 block of 67th Avenue on Friday afternoon.Officers went to the home to perform a welfare check after being contacted by a concerned neighbor who had received a text message from one of the home’s occupants that mentioned “imminent” suicide, police said. The officers found King and Moore shot in a bedroom. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene and King was taken to the hospital in critical condition.Police spokesman Officer Jeff Thomason said it appears King had been distressed about his employment status and had told friends and family of plans to take his own life and Moore’s.Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Police Department’s homicide unit at (510) 238-3821.
