* 76 Gas Station On Playa Street And Burger King Restaurant At 245 Bay Shore Blvd. In San Francisco Both Robbed By Matching Suspects

San Francisco police are investigating whether the same suspects are responsible for two armed robberies that occurred within about an hour of each other tonight. Police spokesman Boaz Mariles said two male suspects entered a 76 gas station in the 1200 block of La Playa Street in the Sunset District at about 6:20 p.m. One of the suspects brandished a gun and demanded money from the register and the pair made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.Mariles said the suspects were described as black males, one of whom was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black scarf covering his face. The second was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.At about 7:10 p.m., two males who matched the descriptions of the suspects in the first robbery entered a Burger King restaurant at 245 Bay Shore Blvd. near the Silver Terrace neighborhood, Mariles said. Again, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and the two men made off with an undisclosed amount of money.A man who identified himself as the nighttime manager of the restaurant said one of the suspects pointed a gun at him while they took money from the cash register. He said no customers were robbed.Mariles said no one was injured in the robberies.
