An arrest warrant has been issued for a 21-year-old Bay Area man who police say gunned down 32-year-old Antioch resident Howard Brooks on Sunday evening. Clarence Johnson Jr., also known as CJ, is wanted on a $1 million murder warrant. He is known to frequent Antioch, Pittsburg, Oakland and San Francisco and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. Brooks was found shot multiple times at about 8:10 p.m. in the 900 block of K Street, police said. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. On Wednesday, police arrested an 18-year-old Antioch man in connection with the shooting, but he was released without charges after witnesses told investigators that although he was allegedly present during the shooting, he was not the shooter. Investigators now believe Johnson was the shooter, police said.
