Union City police have arrested two males suspected of passing out contaminated brownies that sickened five Logan High School students last week.The students reported becoming ill or feeling like they were under the influence between Wednesday and Friday, school district spokesman Rick La Plante said. Two of the students experienced convulsions and had to be hospitalized.Medical test results for two of the students who were treated at the hospital revealed the presence of marijuana. No other illegal drugs were detected in the medical samples.Police arrested an 18-year-old Union City man for possession of marijuana and a 17-year-old Conley-Carabello High School student who was found on the Conley-Carabello campus in possession of six marijuana brownies, a pipe and 13 bags of marijuana.The school district on Friday sent phone messages to students’ parents advising them about the incident and asking parents to remind their children to be cautious about the source of the food they eat. The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information about this case to call the Police Department at (510) 471-1365 or the anonymous tip line at (510) 675-5207.
