* 2-Year-Old Girl Shot In Richmond While Driving With Her Dad On Seventh Street.

A 2-year-old girl was injured in a shooting this evening in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood, a police spokeswoman said.The girl was riding with her father in a Jeep Cherokee when a suspect fired shots at the vehicle from the sidewalk in the 500 block of Seventh Street just after 6 p.m., police Sgt. Bisa French said. The girl sustained a gunshot wound to her shoulder and was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital, French said. She is expected to survive. Her father was not injured in the shooting.French said a motive for the shooting is under investigation.”It appears that (the suspect) did, for some unknown reason,target this vehicle,” she said.The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Richmond police at (510) 233-1214. A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the case.
