Mexican police officers are fired upon by gang members after a pursuit. A major gun battle erupts in the center of the major City of Veracruz with hundreds of rounds being fired. The army and federal police respond to assist. During the shootout, the gang members’s vehicle explodes and burns and ignites four other vehicles. An innocent bystander taxi driver is shot by stray bullets and is taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The director of the hospital reports the taxi driver is in grave condition.
