* Robbie Smith And Mark Boulerice Arrested In Monterey Near Lockwood And San Lucas In Posession Of Weapons

A parolee and ex-felon were arrested in rural Monterey County on Saturday afternoon after police found weapons including a rifle and hunting knife in their possession, authorities said today.Several witnesses called police about two men walking down a roadway carrying firearms, and police responded to the area of Lockwood and San Lucas roads around 5 p.m.The parolee, 39-year-old Robbie Smith, had blood on his face and a fresh laceration on his forehead, and sheriff’s deputies found a .22 caliber rifle, an 8 inch hunting knife, a hatchet and hundreds of rounds of .22 caliber ammunition hidden nearby in the woods, authorities said.The deputies learned the men had taken a Chevy Blazer “off road” and the vehicle had become stuck in the mud. The driver of the car, who was not found, had gotten into a fistfight with Smith which resulted in the laceration to his forehead, according to authorities.Smith and Mark Boulerice, the ex-felon who was still with him,were arrested and taken to Monterey County jail.Police searched for the driver and vehicle but were unable to find them.
