A woman who was allegedly fatally shot Friday by a man in Oakland who police say then turned the gun on himself has been identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as 46-year-old Aprile Moore.Officers went to a home in the 2500 block of 67th Avenue at about 2:50 p.m. Friday to conduct a welfare check after being called by a concerned neighbor, police spokesman Jeff Thomason said. The neighbor had received a text message from one of the home’s occupants, saying a “suicide was imminent,” Thomason said.Officers found Marlon King, 45, and Moore both suffering gunshot wounds in a bedroom. Moore was pronounced dead at the home and King was listed in critical condition at a local hospital, Thomason said.Homicide investigators believe King shot and killed Moore before turning the gun on himself, according to Thomason, who said King had been depressed about his employment status. King had allegedly notified friends and family of his intentions to take his own life and Moore’s, Thomason said.Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to call Oakland police homicide detectives at (510) 238-3821.
