* Richmond Drive-By Shooting At The Intersection Of Fourth Street And Grove Avenue One Dead

Authorities are investigating whether a pair of drive-by shootings this evening that left one dead and two injured in Richmond and unincorporated North Richmond are connected, a police sergeant said.Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said shortly after 7 p.m. two males were injured in a drive-by shooting in the area of Seventh Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Both victims are expected to survive.French said the shooting followed a homicide in North Richmond.According to Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee, deputies responded to a shooting at 6:43 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Street and Grove Avenue.Gunshots were fired from a vehicle toward a group of people at the intersection and one male victim was struck, Lee said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.No arrests have been made in either case.French said officers will be patrolling the areas of the shootings tonight in an effort to prevent any possible retaliatory attacks.
