Police in Fairfield believe a suspect currently in custody was responsible for burglaries committed in December and November.
Officers on Thursday searched the home of 18-year-old Phillip Callins and recovered evidence from prior burglaries, including a computer stolen during a burglary at Cleo Gordon School in November, according to Fairfield police. Callins was arrested Jan. 5 in the 100 block of Verano Court for an attempted residential burglary in the neighborhood earlier that day. Detectives investigating similar incidents reported that they were allegedly able to match Callins’ shoeprints to those recovered as evidence
from a burglary committed in the 1500 block of Mariposa Way in December. Callins, still in police custody, will face further charges to be added as the investigation continues, according to police. Further arrests of other involved parties are anticipated.
Anyone with information regarding the burglaries is asked to contact Fairfield police at (707) 428-7300.
