A San Francisco taxi driver is still recovering at a hospital today after being stabbed and robbed Monday night near the Castro District, police said. The cabbie, who is about 50 years old, was beaten and stabbed several times in the face and chest, and then robbed, police spokesman Officer Samson Chan said this morning. The incident took place at about 7:15 p.m. in the 200 block of States Street.The driver, whose injuries were considered life threatening, “is in serious condition, and is improving,” Chan said.Police are still looking for the suspect, who they describe as a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded puffy jacket, dark pants and dark shoes.Police have not said whether the suspect was a passenger in the cab.
