The Union City Police Department is currently seeking Omar Cruz on a warrant charging him with Failure to Appear in Court. Detective Manny Leon reports that In 2008 Union City Police were called to a domestic battery where the suspect, Omar Cruz, allegedly pulled the victim’s hair, grabbed her cheek and threatened her with a “homemade prison shank”. Upon police arrival, the occupants except Cruz exited the residence. When contacted inside, Cruz allegedly physically resisted officers and after he was detained the weapon was discovered on his person. Cruz is believed to be homeless and may be staying in Alameda, Santa Clara or San Mateo Counties. Cruz has several distinguishing tattoos such as the word “Triste” on the right side of his neck, 3 dots on his left wrist, “Sur” on his left arm among others.
