A Rio Nido man was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and causing a DUI-related crash that injured another driver on River Road in Forestville this morning. California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat said 31-year-old Gabriel Hotchkiss left the scene of the 7:53 a.m. crash near Mirabel Road. He was arrested at his Rio Nido home, Sloat said.Witnesses said Hotchkiss was driving a 1999 Audi A4 west on River Road, Sloat said. The Audi swerved over the double yellow line directly into the path of a 2005 Ford Focus driven by a 45-year-old Monte Rio resident, Sloat said. That driver swerved to avoid the Audi but the left front of the Audi struck the left rear of the Ford, Sloat said. The driver of the Ford suffered minor to moderate injuries when the vehicle overturned on the side of the road, Sloat said. Hotchkiss was booked into the Sonoma County jail for hit-and-run DUI and driving while unlicensed, Sloat said.
