A 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Pinole Tuesday morning, police said.At about 9:20 a.m., police were notified of a robbery at the Mechanics Bank at 1518 Fitzgerald Drive. The suspect, described as an older white man wearing a trench coat, hat and sunglasses, handed the teller a note threatening that he would open fire if the teller did not give him money, police said.The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and no one was injured.At about 12:50 p.m., a Pinole police officer was alerted by a citizen to a suspicious person in a Subaru who left the Pinole Vista Center on Fitzgerald Drive shortly after the robbery. The vehicle was registered to an address on Emma Drive.Officers went to the address and found Walter Linville of Richmond standing in the driveway, police said. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.Anyone with further information on the case is asked to call Detective Justin Rogers at (510) 724-8941.
