A 46-year-old Santa Rosa man was shot with a Taser and arrested early this morning after the California Highway Patrol pursued his speeding motorcycle on U.S. Highway 101. A CHP patrol unit tried to stop Darrell Gene Greiner’s 2004 Suzuki GSXR1000 motorcycle for speeding on the highway south of Steele Lane around 12:45 a.m., the CHP said.Greiner allegedly sped up, exited the freeway and drove onto Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa, the CHP said.Greiner turned into a cul-de-sac at Longleaf Road and turned off the motorcycle’s lights but the pursuing officers spotted the motorcycle and confronted him, the CHP said.Greiner allegedly violently resisted arrest and a CHP officer suffered a broken hand during the struggle, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said. Greiner was shot with a Taser and arrested for reckless evasion,
resisting arrest, resisting officers by force, driving on a suspended license and violating probation. He was booked into the Sonoma County jail.Sloat said Greiner’s license was suspended in 2007 for DUI and he had been drinking alcohol Tuesday night but was not over the limit.
