* Phuong Giang Identified As San Jose Murder Victim On Dec. 20 2009

Police today identified a homeless man found murdered in San Jose on Dec. 20 as Phuong Giang. Investigators initially believed that Giang, 39, was killed in an accidental fire but have since determined his death was a homicide. Officers responding to a report of a fire at about 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 20 found Giang dead between some buildings in the 1600 block of Tully Road, San Jose police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.Quyen Nguyen, 41, was identified as a suspect in the case and was taken into custody Thursday, Lopez said. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of murder.Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Detective Sgt. Dave Tindall or Detective John Barg at (408) 277-5283.
