* Bulmaro Lopez and Benigno Sanchez Arrested for Alleged Possession of Marijuana and Parole Violation

Salinas police arrested two men Thursday for possession of marijuana for sales and parole violation. Bulmaro Lopez, 29, was stopped by narcotic units at about 11:25 a.m. Lopez, a known gang member, was detained, and authorities conducted a parole search at a home in the 2300 block of North Main Street, according to police. Benigno Sanchez, 28, was contacted at the home, where a search revealed a small amount of cocaine in Lopez’s bedroom and about 1.5 pounds of marijuana, packaging material and scales in the kitchen cabinets, police said. Sanchez said he owned the marijuana, which was distributed for medical purposes, according to police. Both men were booked in county jail.
