Seven people were injured in Oakland after a stolen Lexus crashed into two other cars following a short police pursuit at 62nd Avenue and Foothill Boulevard this morning, Oakland fire Battalion Chief Edward Kilmartin said.At 10:45 a.m., police noticed something suspicious and tried to pull over a Lexus carrying two men and one juvenile male, Kilmartin said. The suspects fled and hit a second car carrying four people, which in turn hit a parked car, according to Kilmartin. The crash occurred before an active police pursuit had begun. The second car was carrying two males and two females. At least two of the people in the car were in their 60s, Kilmartin said. Occupants of the car suffered serious and critical injuries. He said there might have been one fatality, but the Alameda County coroner’s bureau was unable to confirm any deaths. The suspects did not appear to be as badly injured as the people in the car they hit, but they also were taken to the hospital, Kilmartin said. Nobody was in the parked car.Kilmartin said the seven patients were taken to Oakland Children’s Hospital, Eden Medical Center and Highland Hospital. No police officers were injured.
