A man who was fatally shot as he sat in a car with a woman Monday morning has been identified as 28-year-old Gary Jackson of Oakland, police said Tuesday.Jackson and a 19-year-old woman from San Francisco were sitting in a car near the intersection of 51st Avenue and International Boulevard about 4 a.m. Monday when they were shot, according to Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason. Jackson and the woman, whose name is being held, were taken to a nearby hospital, where Jackson was pronounced dead a short time later.The woman is still hospitalized but her condition is improving, according to police.The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, Thomason said.
