Published by Junior Staff Writer on December 22, 2009
Police are investigating the stabbing of a teenager outside a San Jose convenience store Monday afternoon. The stabbing happened at about 2 p.m. Monday in the area of Mckee Road and Rancho Verde. The victim, 19, was making a purchase at the store when he got into a confrontation with another man, Officer Jermaine Thomas said. The two men stepped outside, where the suspect stabbed the victim several times with a sharp metal object, Thomas said. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. The suspect fled on his bicycle and is still at large. Thomas said it is possible the stabbing was gang-related but that the investigation is ongoing.
