Two brothers who were injured when a speeding driver struck their car in San Francisco early Saturday morning remain hospitalized in critical condition today. The brothers’ car was hit at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday as they drove north on Junipero Serra Boulevard near 19th Avenue, police said.According to the brothers’ family, Ruedi and Matthias Keller were returning home from the airport when their Geo Prizm was rear-ended by a driver traveling at a speed estimated at about 100 mph. That driver, 21-year-old James Hunt, of Fremont, died at the scene.Police spokeswoman Lt. Lyn Tomioka said today that an investigation into the crash is ongoing, but that it does appear Hunt was driving too fast.”The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the other vehicle was speeding,” she said. There was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol played a role, she added. The brothers’ family has been posting updates on the Web site, www.caringbridge.org/visit/kellerboys. They say the boys’ conditions remain serious, but have stabilized.
