A 59-year-old security guard from Oakland was the victim of a fatal shooting in the city Saturday night, a police spokesman said. Police are searching for two suspects involved in the death of Bounhom Manyvong at an AutoZone, where he worked as a guard, Officer Jeff Thomason said. The shooting was reported at 7:02 p.m. near the intersection of 101st Avenue and International Boulevard, according to police. Manyvong was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.
It was the city’s 106th homicide this year. The total for the city at the end of 2008 was 125.
