* Morgan Hill Rape The Victim Was Jogging On Mission View Drive

A 45-year-old woman taking a morning jog was attacked and sexually assaulted in Morgan Hill on Tuesday, police said.The victim was jogging south on Mission View Drive when she noticed a male jogger on the other side of the street, police said. The man passed her, but the victim then heard footsteps behind her and felt the suspect grab her upper body with one hand. With his other hand, the suspect held scissors to the victim’s neck, police said.He then pulled her to a nearby orchard and sexually assaulted her before fleeing southeast through the orchard, according to police.The victim ran north to a construction site at the corner of Cochrane Road and Mission View Drive and told a construction worker, who then called police.Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect. He is described as a male between 17 and 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches and 135 to 150 pounds. The suspect, who spoke English and had a Spanish accent, was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark baggie pants.Anyone with information regarding the attack is asked to call Detective Carson Thomas at (408) 779-2101.
