Police are seeking witnesses to a crash Friday afternoon that killed 47-year-old Broadmoor resident Richard Salazar. The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of Hillside Boulevard, a busy four-lane stretch of road that contains homes and a strip of businesses. Broadmoor police Cpl. Michael Yusta said Salazar was driving a white 1998 Ford Mustang south on Hillside Boulevard when he apparently veered out of his lane and rear-ended a 26-foot flatbed tow truck parked outside an auto body shop.Salazar, who was alone in the car, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died. Although the crash happened during a busy time of day, no witnesses have come forward, Yusta said. “We thought that was pretty strange,” he said. “Maybe people were there and they just don’t feel comfortable talking about it at the scene,” he said. It is not clear whether speed, alcohol or a medical problem contributed to the crash, Yusta said. Anyone with more information is asked to call the Broadmoor Police Department at (650) 755-3838.
