ARRESTED
The San Jose Police Department was seeking Christopher Alvarez on a warrant charging him with Fraud. Detective Kirk Wilson reports that Alvarez allegedly uses the internet to conduct fraud schemes. He was first arrested for selling high-end digital cameras and offering large rebates. Those who received a camera never got a rebate, but most never received a camera. Alvarez was on probation and ordered to pay $20,000 restitution to the victims. While on probation he allegedly created a web site advertising lighting for night clubs. The owner of a night club in the Caribbean island of Grenada allegedly paid Alvarez $30,000 to install lighting but Alvarez never showed up. Alvarez remained at large and was able to elude capture until he was featured on Fugitive Watch. Alvarez was eventually captured when he was recognized on the Fugitive Watch web site. The citizen gave the information to the Modesto Police Department. Officers responded and arrested him. CLICK HERE FOR MORE PRESS RELEASES

I don’t understand why it took so long to find him. I know I’ll never get the money he owes me. I gave up years ago. He’s a smart kid, but too bad he’s dishonest. I hope spending time in prison will change him for the better.
