Police in Antioch are searching for suspects who apparently pulled up next to another car in a burgundy Buick and fired shots into the second vehicle, injuring two men.Officers first responded to the area at about 12:20 a.m. today, after receiving reports of a large party on Mount Hamilton Drive that possibly ended with gunshots and people fleeing in vehicles, according to police.A few minutes later, police received another call, reporting shots fired at the nearby intersection of Mokelumne Drive and Lone Tree Way. Police arrived at the intersection to find two men had been shot. Marvin Gaines, 19 of Antioch and Oakland resident Japheth Barnum, 19, told police they had been at the party on Mount Hamilton Drive. The two left in a car, stopping on Mokelumne Drive at the Lone Tree Way intersection.The men told police that another car pulled up next to them as they stopped at the intersection. The occupants of the burgundy Buick Regal fired several rounds into their vehicle, hitting Gaines in the left bicep and Barnum in the back, according to police.The two men were transferred to nearby medical centers and treated for their injuries. The suspects’ car is described as a burgundy Buick Regal from the mid-1990s with a white trunk.No other injuries have been reported in connection with the shots reportedly fired at the party, according to police.
